Saginaw City Councilwoman Carly Rose Hammond

Building a Better Saginaw for Everyone

Carly has jumped into action to support residents and manage local development: she passed a water and sewer late fee waiver to give residents a break during SNAP cuts, is leading efforts to reopen Ojibway Island to vehicle traffic after years of closure, and enacted a moratorium on data centers while working on long-term policies balancing environmental concerns with economic growth.

Carly has led the way advocating for affordable housing development and the construction of diverse housing types to support all of Saginaw's current and future residents with quality new construction. With development opportunities coming into Saginaw, Carly is collaborating on community benefits that share prosperity with every corner of Saginaw. Incoming investment should come with good-paying local union jobs that ensure quality construction.

Carly has led the way advocating for affordable housing development and the construction of diverse housing types to support all of Saginaw's current and future residents with quality new construction. She holds the city, as well as its boards and commissions, accountable to the people. She fights for transparency and accessibility of meetings and relevant information, and won back the Council's ability to review contracts before voting on them. Carly has voted to lower fees and lessen penalties for residents, and advocates for county and city properties to be properly maintained.
